How Fear Keeps You Stuck (And the Only Way Out)
It was the middle of 2024 when I had to admit to myself...
I don't have time to do everything I want.
And I'm not talking about hiking in the Alps...
Or trekking to the Great Wall of China.
I mean just getting everything done...
...in the same 7-day week and 24 hours that we all have.
I don’t know if you’ve ever felt that as well?
You try to be as organised as possible, but as you know, curveballs derail you.
For me, it was five months of fighting with our family car and the AdBlue system.
(I reckon AdBlue is a massive fucking scam—like a lot of others out there right now).
I’d wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it.
Been to three garages, wasted hours driving back and forth to drop it off, pick it up...
…and I’ve spunked over £2,500 on it now.
And that’s just one thing.
I’ve also got three little boys who need my time, energy, and attention.
Why I Parked the Podcast Last Year
That’s why I put the pod on ice.
Finding 'the right' guests, sorting the admin…
Preparing and recording the interviews…
Doing some light editing…
Writing the blurb…
Creating the thumbnail…
Uploading to iTunes and YouTube…
And promoting it...
It was a shit load of work and time.
So, I pivoted.
Focused more on LinkedIn and doing weekly live events.
(Live = minimal prep, no editing, no guests - just me and my brain).
But Fear Nearly Stopped Me From Starting in 2020
Thinking back to 2020, when I started the podcast...
I had a feeling of fear running through me.
Scared of fucking things up.
Worried that guests would think my questions or ideas were stupid.
And then there was the whole tech side to figure out.
But I went ahead anyway.
And it’s been brilliant.
I’ve met SO MANY incredible men and expanded my network beyond anything I imagined.
Looking back, I had no idea how much my network could help me.
But it reminds me of something deeper.
So many of us are scared of change.
You go to do something different, and the voices in your head whisper:
“Now’s not a good time.”
“What if it goes tits up and I look stupid?”
“Wait 'til next month.”
I had all of that and more before I started the podcast.
But here’s the thing...
Fear isn’t just in your head.
It’s in every moment you choose 'comfort over challenge'.
The only way out? (The hard bit)
Step forward and DO something, despite your fears.
After 140+ interviews with successful men, I’ve noticed a pattern:
The men who step up, get more of the life they want.
And sadly, the ones who don’t, stay stuck.
Which one are you?
Where Are You Right Now?
If you’re wondering where you stand in your life right now?
Take 60 seconds and do the Blueprint Quiz.
It’s free. And it’ll show you exactly where you need to focus your energy next.
Also… The Podcast is Coming Back (Sort Of)
I’m planning on doing sporadic podcasts with great guests.
The next guy I’ve got lined up is a BELTER—but I’m awaiting confirmation.
I’ll tell you more about that soon.
For now…
Remember, the world needs strong men.
Be one of them.
