The Power of Brotherhood: 3 Lessons Every Man Needs

Most men keep their real shit locked up.

They nod along, make a joke, pretend it’s all fine.

But inside?

It’s chaos, regret, confusion, fear.

The slow drip of "Is this all there is?"

Over the weekend, I saw that change.

Not through a motivational quote or by hugging trees and chanting mantras.

But by a group of men and unfiltered conversation.

Below are three quick stories from the event.

I can't tell you every detail cos some things need to stay in the room.

And I’m not about to send you a bloody novel.

But in a nutshell?

There’s gold in here.

Read them. Relate to them.

And ask yourself: What's my next move?

1) One of the guys at the event has gone through a relationship break-up.

He told a very similar story that a LOT of us could relate to.

He'd found himself going to coping mechanisms.

That for you might be booze, drugs, scrolling, binge watching TV...

...eating too much, compulsive gambling, whatever.

And his sleep had been rubbish for days.

In short, he was shattered.

You could see it in his face.

By the end of the first day he felt a bit shit.

He decided to go home instead of staying at the event.

I said 'Mate, you do what you have to do, totally understand'.

I'll be honest: I was sad to see him go.

I knew how good Sunday was going to be...

...and it was just at the RIGHT time for him.

But here's what's cool.

On Sunday morning, after our 7am jog and ice bath and cooked breakfast...

We looked up, and there he was.

Walking in the driveway, smiling.

He'd driven 80 miles home that night feeling shit...

...and after a good night's sleep, he woke up feeling 'BACK'.

Energy, mood, head - all improved.

He KNEW he had to come back.

So he drove 80 miles to get to us and spend the Sunday.

He said, 'Events and opportunities like this are SO NEEDED'.

And I'm glad he came back.

He's a fantastic bloke and has SO MUCH value to give to others.

2) One of the guys who came along last year was returning for round 2.

He'd done an ice bath back in 2024 but probably stayed in a bit too long (plus it was quite a bit colder last year)...

...and afterwards, he'd struggled to get warm.

So this year he said 'I'll sit this out'.

Now, I'm all for making your own decisions and sticking to them.

But sometimes, you can spot people who are capable of stuff they talk themselves out of.

Maybe you've done that before in life?

Fear and what-ifs can hold you back.

So one of my good friends, Phil, a long-time supporter of the Whole Man Academy...

...(and creator of the Flawed Hero Marathon),

...had a chat to the guy and said,

'Just try it, go in half way if needed and then, if you hate it, get out'.

Well, the guy took Phil's advice.

He got in, and ended up fully submerged and fucking loving it.

Because it was a WIN and a push past the mental blocks that can keep you down.

I wonder how many things in life you are avoiding because you are fearful?

And yet, maybe if you dipped a toe, then got up to your knees in it...

...you'd find out you loved it.

Ok last story...

3) One of the guys has written a book based on the forgotten Pilots of World War 2.

I'll tell you more about 'the book' another day...

...but his big challenge is getting publicity for the book with zero budget.

We all talked about the power of your network.

Because if you are connected with ME, you are therefore connected to everyone IN my network.

Several guys in the group had contacts and suggestions for him.

Plus, some great input from a guy in the group whose copywriting and ideas have generated...

...over £200 million in online sales.

So, he's got loads to go away and work on, whereas before, he had nothing but his own ideas.

That's the power of collective wisdom.

That's the value in men getting together.

That's the reason there's strength in numbers.

So, take what you can from this Journal and use it wisely.

Hope you enjoyed it, and remember to take the quiz (linked below) to evaluate your situation, if you haven’t already.

It will help you sort your a shit out and improve your life.

Cheers

Anthony
