Are You Ready to Admit Where You’re Letting Yourself Down?

It’s tough to admit where you’re failing.

Especially if you’re a proud man who wants to show up in the world for his kids or wife.

Or maybe just your parents looking at you from afar.

Maybe “failing” feels like a heavy word.

But what about letting yourself down?

In Podcast 140, Nathan Simmonds and I talked about something every man needs to hear:

You’re made up of different parts—call them sectors, elements, or pieces of the puzzle.

And right now, one of those areas is pulling your entire average down.

You already know what it is.

Deep down, you know where you’re not showing up.

Where you’re choosing comfort over growth.

And until you face that, you’ll never become the man you’re capable of being.

You’ll always have a part of you that’s unfinished.

Unactivated. Dormant.

The Brutal Truth: Where Are You Falling Short?

Let’s take a look:

1. Your Marriage Is Crumbling

You barely speak to each other anymore.

When you do, it’s short, snappy, and full of tension.

The connection feels like a distant memory.

Nat gooood.

2. Your Sex Life Is Non-Existent

You can’t remember the last time you felt desired.

You find yourself looking at hot women on Instagram and the algorythm knows it.

You’re like shit flatmates who fucked once, at this point, avoiding eye contact and hoping the topic doesn’t come up.

3. Your Bank Account Is a Joke

You’re juggling credit cards, scraping by until payday, and ignoring the “overdraft fee” notifications that pop up like clockwork.

You shit yourself when you pay for something hoping it goes through.

4. Your Career Is So Fucking Boring It Drains Your Soul

You sit at your desk staring at the clock, wondering how you ended up here.

Every email feels like a slow death, and the only thing you’re building is resentment.

Only 20 more years then you can retire.

WHoopee.

5. Your Social Life Is Dead

The lads don’t call anymore, or maybe you’re the one always making excuses.

In fact, you don’t even know if that lads are still alive.

and sometimes you can’t even be arsed to go out anyway.

Nights out are a thing of the past, and you can’t remember the last time you laughed until it hurt.

6. Your Work-Life Balance Is fucked

You’re either grinding yourself into the ground or procrastinating so hard it feels like an achievement.

Weekends are just a blur of chores, kids stuff, admin emails, and regret.

7. Your Scrolling Habit Is Completely Out of Control

Hours vanish as you swipe through endless reels, doomscroll Twitter, or get lost in TikTok rabbit holes.

You tell yourself it’s just “five minutes,” but your screen time report says otherwise.

The Decision That Changes Everything

Here’s the thing: nothing changes unless you do.

The only way forward is to make a decision.

Not next week.

Not when you’ve got more time.

Now.

Hammer a fucking big stake in the ground.

Say enough is enough.

From today, commit to improving.

Not because someone told you to.

Not because it’s what you “should” do.

Because deep down, you need to.
